The sculptor, Julián Cerón, was born in Santiago de Cali in 1966 where he had his first contact with artistic pieces of concrete of the family business. With the time he started his own company of artistic and more advanced forms and designs of concrete and metal sculptors. Nevertheless Julián decided to take a step further and reach the soul of his creations modeling/casting its internal structure of iron.
Since then, and all along his career, he has worked with a vast variety of materials such as iron wire, wood, clay, fiber glass, stones and crystal; work that can be seen in different places like Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, United States, La Martinique, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany or Japan.
The statues of Julián are slim and dynamic, which seems to be the antithesis of the work of Botero.
His ants are famous, made of one piece of wire. Why ants? "Because they don't thinkthey undertake action", says Julián."I have learned a lof of from them, I have beenobserving them since my childhood: they are all one.
