Evan Deval was born in Rio de Janeiro. Very early, he quits the city, probably looking for some place he missed, without knowing why, or where it was. His first choice was a little mountain town. Later on, he moves to the north coast of Rio de Janeiro, staying there for a longer period of time. These two villages, although different, raised his interest for arts, relating him with nature and daily life as source of inspiration. He turns out from any fashion, that intends to homogenize art and uses a simple language in phase with his environment.

He comes to Spain and settles down in Barcelona by chance, after a short stay in Buenos Aires. But it is in Catalonia, that he finds the peace he needs to develop his creativity:

"I felt protected, identified, reaching coolness and a self-assurance feeling. Barcelona allowed me to breathe calmly, without the stress of a comparable size cosmopolite city. It is a serenity in which I can let it go, being receptive to what surrounds me and moving forward in positive and constructive way."

"I am optimistic, doing what I like. I like Barcelona as a base, a reference, but I remain open to the world."

His collectors spread over the world (Spain, France, Italy, England, Netherlands, Brazil, US, Chile, China…), are form diverse backgrounds, with various tastes and styles that confirm the singularity and the exclusivity of his work.

The work of Evan Deval is the result of an indefinite restlessness: "I’ve always felt connected to Arts, in a wider sense. When I start a work, I let myself wander, I observe, I transform. I take distance and I experiment. I feel grateful that I have this capacity". "Everything has life, meaning and value..."

The Artist, very attached to the harmony of the space and the environment, creates furniture with pure lines, bringing impacting shapes and effects. Simplicity and functionality that favour moods: lamps, folding screens, tables, clothes stands…

The folding screens, always present in the spaces the artist creates, look like contemporary sculptures. More than a piece of furniture, it is a decorative and functional piece. Designs that are distinctive of the Artist’s work.

"The pleasure and the harmony of a space exists when art and decoration are combined, creating an original and personal environment."

His Mandala tables, “paintings on feet”, are compositions of wood blocks (like a patchwork) that produce curiosity and admiration by the ingenuity of the interlocking, reminding a Mandala (that suggested the line name).

The clothes stands, are robust and elegantly styled pieces, made of only two elements: steel and wood.
